Scholarships for students studying environmental issues

The Friends of Moraine Hills State Park has extended the application deadline to June 1 for two $1,000 scholarships for students who will enter college and pursue a career directly related to preserving/protecting the environment. Eligible students must reside in Lake, McHenry or Kane counties, attend a high school in one of those counties, have a minimum B average for the first three years in high school and plan to attend an accredited college or university. The original deadline was April 15. The scholarship applications are for the school year starting in fall 2020. Application packets are available at www.friendsofmorainehillsstatepark.org.
