2 charged in Villa Park armed robbery

Emonie E. Simmons, 22, of the 100 block of North Mayfield Avenue in Chicago, and Javier T. Johnson, 19, of the 0-100 block of North Waller Avenue in Chicago, have been charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon or firearm.

They are accused of taking a woman's purse and wallet at gunpoint at 5:31 p.m. March 21 in Villa Park.

Simmons is free on a $50,000 personal recognizance bond. Johnson's bail was set at $50,000, and as of Wednesday morning, he remained in the DuPage County jail.
