Suddenly borders are important

It has been amazing to watch the media and Democrats constantly attack President Trump for protecting our borders, our sovereignty and the rule of law. Anybody who supports protecting our borders is constantly accused of being a racist or a xenophobe by liberals. Until the coronavirus hit.

When President Trump originally stopped all travel from China to protect the American people from the coronavirus, the media and Democrats once again accused him of being a racist and xenophobe, including former Democrat Vice President Joe Biden. Then as we found that visitors from Europe were the source of most of our new coronavirus cases, President Trump extended the travel ban to anybody from Europe. Of course, Europe complained.

But then as the coronavirus invaded countries all over the world, other countries started protecting their borders and stopping noncitizens from entering their countries as well to protect their citizens. Countries bordering China initially did so and recently the EU just stopped all travel into the EU from all other countries. Today, even Canada has shut down their borders to non-Canadian citizens from around the world except for Americans.

Wow, suddenly the world has discovered that borders matter. What a concept. Not only do countries have the right to protect their people from disease pandemics, they also have the right to keep out foreign terrorists, drug dealers and criminals. They also have the right to keep out illegal immigrants that take advantage of our generosity by illegally using our health system, schools and other social benefits that are supposed to go to our citizens. Why do we all agree it is OK to protect our citizens from foreign diseases but not the theft of $150 billion in U.S. tax dollars?
