Elmhurst native's Corvette now to be featured in June
Elmhurst native Dan Crean is going to have to wait a little longer before his 1970 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray gets its day in the sun.
Charlotte Motor Speedway has announced that its Pennzoil AutoFair, originally scheduled for April 2-5, will be postponed until June 12-14 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Crean's 50-year-old car, which he purchased in 1970 in South Bend, Indiana, is scheduled to be part of the AutoFair's Carolina Classic Corvettes exhibit. It was featured in the Daily Herald's March 13 Auto section. Crean now lives in North Carolina.
The AutoFair's postponement comes after extensive discussions with local public health officials, community leaders and at the advice of the CDC, the speedway said in a news release.
