Frequent flyer's disturbing unconcern

I was surprised to see the Daily Herald run this huge story about a frequent flyer who doesn't think the coronavirus, in his opinion, is a big deal.

This man is not an epidemiologist, he has no back round in health or science, yet he becomes your expert on travel based sole on the fact that he travels a lot. This in the face of growing concerns about the virus spreading and almost universal advice from public health experts who suggest people stay home. The only thing missing from the story was a line about him being a Trump supporter who thinks the whole coronavirus story is a hoax.

You also put him in the cockpit of an airliner, which led me to believe he might have been a pilot. If he was, that would have added some credibility to the story. You could have sampled a larger cross section of seasoned travelers to see if there was general agreement about the virus story being overdone.

The story served no useful purpose and, if anything, might have contributed to some needless airline travel.
