Lombard Garden Club extends scholarship deadline

Lombard residents now have until an extended deadline of April 15 to apply for a $1,000 scholarship from the Lombard Garden Club.

The club's scholarship is for a high school senior, home-schooled student or student enrolled in a college program who is interested in pursuing a career in horticulture, ecology, landscape design, agriculture, environmental ecology, botany or a related field.

Applicants must have a "C" average or better, verified by a transcript, and extracurricular participation is encouraged. Applicants must provide two letters of recommendation from teachers or school counselors, as well as a statement of career goals.
