Democrats nominate Berman for Kane County Board District 2 seat

Dale Berman on Tuesday won the race for the Democratic nomination for Kane County Board District 2 seat.

With all precincts reporting, unofficial results show that Berman, currently North Aurora village president, amassed 930 votes to 555 votes for Richard Leonard of Aurora.

Berman now moves to the Nov. 3 general election.

No Republican filed to run for the seat, but the party still has time to place a candidate on the November ballot.

Berman has said he will step down as North Aurora village president if he wins in the general election. District 2 includes parts of Aurora, Montgomery and North Aurora.
