Lake County declares disaster

Lake County Board Chair Sandy Hart on Friday signed a disaster proclamation to allow the county to access additional state and federal funding and resources to respond to COVID-19.

The proclamation is a necessary procedural step to be able to access equipment and personnel should the number of cases rise and demands on the county and its partners continue to increase.

All Lake County government offices remain open but fast-changing events are being monitored. The county will postpone or cancel large-scale events; consider canceling public meetings; explore telecommuting options for staff; and take other measures.
