Appelllate court denies Libertyville rehearing

Libertyville likely will throw in the towel regarding a proposed 148-home subdivision on property owned by the Archdiocese of Chicago near Butterfield Road and Lake Street after the 2nd District Appellate Court denied the village a rehearing. Appealing to the Illinois Supreme Court is the last option but the village likely won't pursue that, according to Mayor Terry Weppler. "I do not believe we'll go that route," he said. The village has about 30 days to decide. The appellate court in February upheld a lower-court ruling that overturned the village's original denial of the proposal by Roanoke Group LLC.
