Leader on women's health care

As a Nurse Practitioner and Owner of Abundant Wellness LLC in Gurnee, I am in awe of Lauren Underwood. Her dedication and perseverance in supporting women in all aspects of their life. As a healthcare provider for 44 years, I also have supported women in all aspects of health care and decision making throughout their life span.

Lauren Underwood has introduced many bills focused on women's maternal health. The bill PUMP (HR5592) Providing Urgent Maternal Protection, corrects a legal glitch to let women express breast milk while at the workplace. It is well documented that breastmilk is the best food we can give our infants for as long as we can. I encourage everyone to breastfeed.

In June 2019, she introduced Community Access to Resources and Education, CARE (HR3117), knowledge is empowering for all people. Then in October 2019 Lauren introduced reauthorization funding for the Healthy Start program for five years which will give our future generations a good start with nutrition and healthcare. This reduces health care costs tremendously over the life of a person, and then in November 2019 Lauren introduced and passed a bipartisan bill MOMS (HR4996) continuing Medicaid through the full postpartum period, which is excellent in getting mothers off to a good start as a New MOM.

When you have your health all things are possible; when you Don't nothing else matters. Having the tools, knowledge and values to make good choices for yourself and your families health, gets our future generations into an empowering position. This will allow them to flourish and live their best lives.
