Courage, fortitude needed in 6th District

I was appalled by the Daily Herald's recent endorsement of Jay Kinzler over Jeanne Ives for the representative of the 6th Congressional District. It appears to me to reflect a clear political bias of the Daily Herald editorial staff in endorsing what is clearly the weaker candidate. From your biased characterization of a television ad to your minimization of Jeanne's significant accomplishments in the State House, it is clear to me that you are just promoting the weaker candidate to face Sean Casten in the fall.

Jeanne Ives has shown courage and fortitude in facing off against Mike Madigan in Springfield and worked with Democrats to champion legislation important to her district and Illinois in general, versus Kinzler's go-along-get-along performance on a park board.

Jeanne's passion and toughness are signs of a true leader, and her list of legislative accomplishments something the editorial board fails to fully acknowledge. We need Jeanne's kind of leadership in Washington. I'm disappointed that the once excellent and independent Daily Herald has so badly missed the mark.
