Boy, 14, turns himself in to police after stabbing near Gurnee Mills
A 14-year-old boy turned himself in to Gurnee police Tuesday in connection with a fight near Gurnee Mills mall where a 13-year-old boy was stabbed, authorities said.
According to a Gurnee police news release, officers were dispatched to a parking lot near Gurnee Mills around 8:45 p.m. Saturday.
Officers found eight teens involved in the fight, and one of them, a 13-year-old boy, was bleeding from the head.
Officers were told the 13-year-old was stabbed with a small knife by a teen who had left the scene.
Gurnee fire department officials provided medical treatment at the scene for those injured during the fight.
The 14-year-old boy's case will be handled by the juvenile court system, according to Gurnee police.
