Porter plans to return from foot injury; LaVine doubtful

Bulls forward Otto Porter Jr. is planning to make his return to the court Monday when the Bulls host Dallas at the United Center. At the same time, leading scorer Zach LaVine is listed as doubtful due to a quad injury.

Porter hasn't played since the first half of the Nov. 6 game in Atlanta. He was originally diagnosed with a sprained left foot, which was later changed to a broken bone in his foot after further evaluation. The Bulls' highest-paid player at $27 million this season, Porter averaged 11.2 points in the nine games he played at the start of the season. Porter is expected to play 16 to 20 minutes in his return.

LaVine has played in all 60 games so far this season while averaging 25.5 points. He played 38 minutes in Saturday's loss at New York and scored 26 points.

Dallas star Luka Doncic is listed as probable for Monday's game after missing the Mavericks' win at Minnesota on Sunday due to a thumb injury.

In other injury news, Lauri Markkanen was assigned to the Windy City Bulls so he could join the G-League team for a practice Monday. This will be the first full-contact practice for Markkanen since being diagnosed with a stress reaction in his pelvis Jan. 24. Center Wendell Carter Jr. is expected to play his second game after recovering from a high ankle sprain, and Coby White is listed as probable with a back injury.
