Students take part in #HashtagLunchBag Initiative

On Feb. 26, the West Elementary Youth Leadership Team hosted the #HashtagLunchbag Initiative in the gymnasium.

#HashtagLunchbag is a humanity service movement dedicated to empowering and inspiring humanity to reap the benefits of giving through the use of social media.

Each student at West decorated a brown paper bag and then walked through the gym where the Youth Leadership Team was handing out supplies for bagged lunches. Students formed a line and made their way through the gym, packing up a bagged lunch as they went.

Included in these lunches were love messages for recipients in order to spread love and inspiration to those who need it the most. These bagged lunches were then distributed to shelters around the community.
