Poe Elementary Panthers Enjoy a Great Event at McDonald's

Arlington Heights| Poe Elementary School students gave teachers an A-plus on their fundraising efforts.

Thirteen teachers and support staff from Poe Elementary School volunteered behind the counter on Thursday, February 27th at the Arlington Heights McDonald's located on Dundee Rd., where they served students and their families in their annual fundraiser.

Poe's Instructional Coach Julie Witt enjoyed the duty of wearing an apple pie costume while encouraging students to purchase a delicious apple pie. Meanwhile, other teacher volunteers tended to the front counter, served ice cream, and assisted in table service delivering delicious food to families.

Poe Elementary Principal Christy Campbell said "This is such a great event for our community to come together and enjoy! Many thanks to David Bear for a great 4th year of fun and profits for our Panthers!"

The proceeds from the 175 apple pies sold will help support the Poe School PTO. Twenty percent of the proceeds from the McTeacher's Night sales were donated directly to the Poe School PTO.

Poe Elementary student Olivia Hill said, "There's great ice cream and it's fun to play with people outside of school."

David Bear, Owner/Operator of the Arlington Heights McDonald's and the Bear Family were delighted to participate in the worthy cause for education and community.
