Palatine police still investigating crash that killed pedestrian

Palatine police continue to investigate a crash that claimed the life of a 68-year-old man Friday night while he tried to cross South Quentin Road.

Authorities said the man was struck about 8:25 p.m. Friday by a 2018 Honda Accord driven by a 63-year-old woman heading south on Quentin Road near Kathleen Drive.

Palatine police Cmdr. Dave Weeks said Monday that the woman was not cited. Weeks said Monday police still cannot release the pedestrian's name due to the continuing investigation.

The man, who was pronounced dead at the scene, died as a result of blunt-force injuries, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Police said the woman for treated for injuries at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.
