Stevenson clinches share of NSC title

Matthew Ambrose had 17 points and 5 rebounds, and Stevenson's boys basketball defeated host Warren 52-33 on Friday night to clinch a share of the North Suburban Conference championship.

John Ittounas added 9 points for the Patriots. It was the seventh win in a row for Stevenson (23-4, 12-1), which can clinch the conference title outright with a home win against Lake Forest on Wednesday night.

Warren (10-17, 4-9) received 9 points from Alexander Figueroa.

Mundelein 63, Lake Zurich 41:

Trey Baker's 17 points led four players in double figures, and the host Mustangs won to remain 1 game back of first-place Stevenson in the North Suburban Conference with one remaining for each team.

Conor Enright added 14 points and 7 assists for Mundelein (25-4, 11-2), which plays Moline in a nonconference game at the United Center at 1 p.m. Sunday. Jack Bikus had 13 points and 7 rebounds, and Scottie Ebube contributed 11 points and 7 boards.

Lake Zurich fell to 7-20 and 2-11 in the NSC with its eighth loss in a row.

Grayslake North 66, North Chicago 58, OT:

Jamon Thomas scored 23 points, Dominic Jankowski added 21, and the host Knights needed overtime to win the Northern Lake County Conference game.

Tony Hines had 11 points for Grayslake North (9-17, 5-8).

Grant 50, Lakes 40:

Mikal Ashley scored 16 points to lead the visiting Bulldogs to the Northern Lake County Conference win.

Luke Bedrosian added 10 points for Grant (9-20, 5-8).

Tylor Gunther led Lakes (9-19, 5-8) with 12 points on four 3-pointers. The Eagles also received 11 points from Branden Nava and 9 from Chance Andell.

Deerfield 48, Vernon Hills 44, OT:

The host Warriors prevailed in overtime of the Central Suburban League North Division game.

Jack Barszcz scored 15 points to lead Vernon Hills (13-16, 3-7).

Notre Dame 61, Carmel 52:

The visiting Corsairs fell to 17-12 and 3-6 in the East Suburban Catholic Conference.

Notre Dame improved to 26-4 and 8-1 in the ESCC.
