New banners brighten up downtown Arlington Heights

Unique street banners depicting "The Beauty of the Winter Season" are currently brightening up the Arlington Heights downtown area.

Created by local artists, these original graphics are displayed along Arlington Heights Road and down Northwest Highway as part of a Banner Project hosted by the Arlington Heights Arts Commission.

Artists were invited to submit designs signifying a winter theme and, in all, 24 designs were selected.

"The submissions we received were outstanding," said Arts Commission chairwoman Janet Souter. "We're so proud to be able to showcase the talented artists in the area."

The banners will be displayed through mid-March.
