Lakes moves on, beats Ridgewood

Rosie Tekampe scored 12 points, and Lakes' girls basketball team defeated No. 16 Ridgewood 34-18 in a play-in game of the Class 3A Prairie Ridge regional on Monday night.

Kendal Phelan added 6 points for No. 17 Lakes (6-22), which plays top-seeded Grayslake Central (26-3) in Tuesday's first semifinal at 6 p.m.

Waukegan 53, Round Lake 43: At Carmel, Amari Cole had 12 points for the 17th-seeded Panthers in the Class 4A regional play-in.

Taylor Major and Ariea Williams each scored 10 points for Round Lake (10-22). Lilli Burton had 9.

No. 16 Waukegan plays top-seeded Hersey (24-7) in Tuesday's first semifinal at 6 p.m.
