U.S. 41 crash involving semi truck injures three

A crash involving a semi truck Monday night in Gurnee sent three people to the hospital and closed U.S. 41 in both directions, officials said.

Two people were taken to Vista Medical Center East and one was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center after the crash, which happened shortly before 7:30 p.m., according to Gurnee Fire Department Battalion Chief James Pellitteri.

As of 9 p.m. Monday, U.S. 41 was closed in both directions near Route 21, police said. It's unclear how long the road will be closed.
