Enter art, prose in Daily Herald, District 214 contest

Here's a great opportunity for any and all artists and writers living within the District 214 attendance area to showcase their creative work: The Daily Herald and District 214 Arts Unlimited Art & Writing Contest.

Submission guidelines are:

• Entry email must include the entrant's name, title of the piece, address and phone number.

• Artwork must be attached as a JPEG 300 dpi and print ready.

• Writing must be attached as a Word document.

• Poems should not exceed 50 lines.

• Prose should not exceed 1,500 words.

• Writing submissions must be typed in 12-point font, double-spaced, carefully proofread and free of copy-editing errors.

• All submissions must be original work.

• There is a limit of one submission per category, per individual.

Please do not submit artwork or writing that:

• Is obscene, pornographic or sexually explicit.

• Depicts graphic or gratuitous violence

• Makes threats of any kind or that harasses, intimidates or bullies.

• Is derogatory, demeaning, malicious, defamatory, abusive or hateful.

Submissions must be submitted electronically by March 1 to herald.contest@d214.org.
