Barrington Independent Short Film Festival wants submissions

Barrington Independent Short Film Festival organizers are calling for submissions. Films not exceeding 30 minutes - including title and closing credits - are being sought for animation, documentary, live action and experimental categories. The submission deadline is April 17.

Content should be suitable for a general audience. The accepted submissions will be shown at the festival from noon to 3 p.m. May 9 at the Catlow Theater on Main Street in downtown Barrington.

There will be $500 cash awarded for first place and $300 for second. The Barrington Cultural Commission has been organizing the event. For more information, check catlowfilmfest.wordpress.com.

Daily Herald film critic Dann Gire will be lead judge. For those planning to attend, tickets can be purchased for $7 at the Catlow box office on the day of the festival starting at 11 a.m. The theater seats about 460 people.
