Stevenson board to talk summer construction

The Stevenson High School board will meet Monday to consider contractors' bids for construction projects planned for this summer.

The board meeting is set for 7:30 p.m. at the district office, which is behind the school at 1 Stevenson Drive in Lincolnshire.

The work to be completed this summer is expected to cost about $7.8 million and will focus on the West Building and stadium.

It doesn't include a proposed 106,300-square-foot expansion project of the field house and East Building, which school officials have said could cost $45 million to $50 million. Bids for that project are expected to be reviewed in March, with a 2021 construction start expected.
