Green Drinks Libertyville explores veterans, nature and art

Nature and Art for Veterans is the topic of the Green Drinks gathering at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, at O'Toole's Libertyville, 412 N. Milwaukee Ave.

Catherine Game, executive director of Brushwood Center at Ryerson Woods, will discuss how nature and art facilitate veterans' well-being in local communities. Brushwood's "At Ease" program builds on research showing that exposure to nature and the arts improves mental health, self-esteem and other obstacles veterans face from the aftereffects of military service, while also learning a new skill and hobby.
