Lake Zurich employee honored

Lake Zurich Assistant Director of Public Works Steve Paulus has been selected by the Lake County branch of the American Public Works Association for its Professional Manager of the Year Award for career service achievements in handling the village's vehicle fleet. Paulus has been with the village for more than 40 years as the fleet superintendent and most recently the assistant public works director. Paulus began work with the village in 1980 as a volunteer firefighter and paramedic and moved to public works as a full-time mechanic in 1983. He currently maintains all of the village's fleet and equipment for public works, fire, and police departments with a staff of three mechanics. Paulus will receive the award at the Feb. 3 village board meeting.
