Buffalo Grove goes to 8-1 in MSL East
Buffalo Grove's girls basketball team remained tied for first place in the Mid-Suburban East with a 37-26 win at Elk Grove on Friday night.
Senior Kendra Lee scored a game-high 13 points and Macy Floro added 6 to lead the Bison (16-9, 8-1) while Elk Grove (15-10, 3-6) was paced by Megan Murray's 16 points.
Conant 41, Hoffman Estates 29: Isabella Tierney (13 points, three 3-pointers), Sam Locascio (10) and Chikere Oduocha (9) led visiting Conant to the MSL West triumph.
Ashley Oliver paced Hoffman (2-22, 0-9) with 14 points.
Schaumburg 46, Palatine 43 (OT): Talia Torosian, a North Central College recruit, hit a buzzer-beating 3-pointer in overtime on her Senior Night to lift the Saxons (10-15, 4-5) to the MSL West win.
It was the Saxons' first win in three games this year against Palatine (13-13, 3-5).
Prospect 49, Wheeling 15: Host Prospect won on its Senior Night to raise its record to 11-10 and 2-6 in the MSL East. Wheeling stands at 4-22 and 0-9.
Maine West 72, Highland Park 29: Maine West raised its record to 22-3 and 9-0 in the Central Suburban North as Angela Dugalic (22 points, 10 rebounds, 8 steals, 7 assists), Dylan Van Fleet (22 points, 6 assists, 5 steals) and Lena Albo (8 points, 3 steals) led the way for the visiting Warriors.
Maine South 53, New Trier 37: Junior Niamh Gardiner led Maine South (22-5, 7-2) with 13 points in the CSL South win.
Sophomore Caroline Barker added 9 points for the visiting Hawks, followed by Nicole Gardiner (7) and Ellie Ronan (6).
