Updated Friday with list of winners
The Hoffman Estates Chamber of Commerce & Industry recognized its most community-active businesses and individuals Thursday night at its ninth annual Celebration of Excellence Awards Dinner.
Though the nominees in six award categories were previously announced, the winners were surprised during the after-dinner presentation at the Chicago Marriott Northwest near the Sears Centre Arena.
Divine Sign & Graphics of Schaumburg won Business of the Year, while Minuteman Press accepted the Small Business of the Year award.
Signature Transportation Group received the Splash Award, given to a first-year member demonstrating extraordinary support for the chamber.
Northern Illinois University-Hoffman Estates was recognized as Public Sector/Non-Profit Partner of the Year.
Amita Health won the Chairman's Award, while Patti Smolin -- business liaison librarian of the Schaumburg Township District Library -- took home the Volunteer of the Year Award.
