Lombard Garden Club accepting applications for scholarships

A $1,000 scholarship is being offered to a 2020 Lombard resident by the Lombard Garden Club. This scholarship is for a high school senior, home-schooled student, or other students currently in a college program.

Criteria includes being a Lombard resident who is pursuing a career related to horticulture, ecology, landscape design, agriculture, environmental ecology, botany, or a related field. Student needs a "C" average or better, verified by a transcript. Extracurricular participation is encouraged.

The applicant needs to provide two recommendation letters from teachers or school counselors. A statement of career goals must also be included.

The Scholarship Committee of the Garden Club will notify local high schools and the College of DuPage the beginning of February with necessary information.

The scholarship coordinator or guidance counselor at the schools may assist students in applying for this scholarship.
