Naperville Central's Melby passes 1,000 points

Naperville Central junior Gabi Melby surpassed the 1,000-point mark in the first quarter of a 66-55 DuPage Valley Conference girls basketball victory.

Melby finished with 25 points in the game. She entered with 995 in her three seasons.

Emily Spisak scored 13 and Katlyn Allen tallied 11 points for the Redhawks (17-9, 4-1), who are 9-1 in their last 10 games.

Lake Park 59, Glenbard West 37:

The Lancers (16-7) won the nonconference game behind 28 points, 12 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 assists from senior Darrione Rogers. Sara Balli added 11 points and 4 assists.

York 46, Hinsdale Central 34:

Sara Krissinger scored 13 points to lead the Dukes (21-5, 9-1) to a victory in the West Suburban Silver.
