Glenbard West to stage 'Diary of Anne Frank'

Glenbard West Theatre will present its winter play, "The Diary of Anne Frank," by Albert Hackett and Frances Goodrich, from Jan. 30 to Feb. 1.

It is a compelling story of a teenager and her family, who are forced to hide - for almost two years - in an Amsterdam attic in order to escape the Nazis. Despite all the negativity and horrible things happening around Anne, her hopeful spirit prevails in all that she believes.

"The Diary of Anne Frank" will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Thursday to Saturday, Jan. 30 to Feb. 1, at Glenbard West High School, 670 Crescent Blvd. in Glen Ellyn.

The cast includes Sophia Danno, Will Rozak, Grace Metcalf, Amanda Schlieben, Emily Davidson, Grady McDonell, Sean Swikle, Sofia Hadley, Charlie Musser and Brennan Cairns.

The play is directed by Molly Hernandez, a Glenbard West Theatre graduate. The technical director is Bruce Medic, and business director is Michael Fox.

Student leaders include student director Josh Reifel, student business director William Metcalf, student technical directors Corey Elvart and Kaplan Anderson, stage manager Robbie Matthew, and assistant stage manager Devon Kelleher

The technical crew includes Luis Marquez, John Goodman, Shaelin Panek, Jacob Bauer, Tim Barranco, Andrew Estes, Taylor Wigle, Vivienne Winter, Mallory Nikoli, Meghan Andres, Cyndy Herrera, Emma King, Meg Farley, Kira Campagna, April Breede, Juliette Winter and Oliver Gonzales.
