Oakton Community College museum to host Darryll Schiff exhibit
Oakton Community College's Koehnline Museum of Art will display unique compositions by Darryll Schiff, a renowned Chicago contemporary artist noted for his distinct ability to capture movement and light through photography.
The exhibit opens Thursday, Feb. 6 and runs through Friday, March 20, at the college's Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Road. The public is invited to an opening night reception for the free exhibition "Darryll Schiff: Confluence" from 5 to 8 p.m. Feb. 6.
Schiff's fine art photography is in the collections of leading museums including the Art Institute of Chicago, Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, George Eastman House in New York and the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago. His art has also been showcased in Korea and Indonesia.
"This is a distinct honor for us to display the work of such an internationally recognized artist," said Nathan Harpaz, curator of the Koehnline Museum of Art.
The museum is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
