Another view of a Gore presidency

Dave Volkman, in his recent letter, said, "Reflect on what may have ensued by stopping the terror attack on the Twin Towers." Yeah? May I introduce you to the late Mr. David Schippers? Does the name sound familiar? It should, based on some of the stuff you wrote about in your letter. He was the lead counsel for the House Republicans in the impeachment of then-President Clinton. Back in June of 2001, he called the Ashcroft Justice Deparment to warn them that, based on information that he had sitting on his desk at that moment, he feared that Middle Eastern terrorists were plotting to "blow up Lower Manhattan."

The info he had sitting on his desk at the time of that call had been collected entirely during the Clinton-Gore years. An investigative journalist, working for KFOR-TV, OKC, at the time of the Oklahoma City bombing (April 19, 1995) was assigned to cover that terror attack minutes after the truck bomb exploded. The more she dug into that attack, the more evidence she discovered that likely would have proven useful to anyone interested in foiling the 9/11 attacks, but the Clinton Justice Department, including the FBI, ignored her. In fact, they even kept some of the evidence she provided them, refusing to return it to her.

The Ashcroft Justice Department? They ignored Schippers' call, so there's plenty of blame to go around.

You ended your letter with, "A different SCOTUS outcome in 2000 produces a much safer, sounder and cleaner planet." You think so? I say a good many of us would be lucky to still be around, given the attention Clinton-Gore gave to the OKC bombing and terrorism in general.

There's more to say about the evidence Schippers had, but it's far more than can be included in this letter.
