Palatine Paint the Town Green celebration fest set for March 14

Organizers of the 10th annual Paint the Town Green St. Patrick's Day celebration in downtown Palatine are accepting parade entrants until Jan. 31 and sponsors until Feb. 3, for the Saturday, March 14 parade, Irish market and scavenger hunt.

Applications are available at stpatspalatine.com.

Participant entries for the scavenger hunt will be accepted online at stpatspalatine.com until March 9 and on the day of the event at the Irish market.

The festivities will begin at 10 a.m. with an Irish market under a tent outside Durty Nellie's, 180 N. Smith St. The parade steps off at 11 a.m. from the corner of Wood and Oak streets and continues west on Wood to Brockway and north to Colfax.

Donations of food, clothing and money will be accepted during both for Journeys the Road Home, an organization serving the homeless and near-homeless in the North and Northwest suburbs.
