Lake County sheriff offering $500 scholarships

Lake County Sheriff John Idleburg will be awarding two $500 scholarships to students pursuing higher education during the 2020-21 academic year.

The scholarships can be applied to tuition, books and fees, and the student must be an Illinois resident enrolled full-time at a certified institution of higher learning in the state.

Applications are available at the sheriff's office or on online at www.ilsheriff.org. Students must complete the application, answer the essay question, and return all documentation to the sheriff's office in their county of residence by March 15.
