Elk Grove tops Prospect in MSL East
Alyssa Trausch (16 points), Kaitlyn Ingebrigsten (9) and Olivia Masnica (6) led Elk Grove's girls basketball team to a 45-33 win over Prospect in the Mid-Suburban East on Tuesday.
The host Grenadiers improved to 11-7 and 2-3.
Prospect (9-8, 1-3) was paced by Eliot Dojutrek (17 points) and Andie Will (8).
Hersey 53, Wheeling 36: Mary McGrath (13 points), Mary Kate Fahey (12 points) and Katy Eidle (11) were top scorers for host Hersey, which raised its record to 16-6 and 4-1 in the MSL East.
Chloe Drozdz led Wheeling (4-16, 0-5) with a game-high 23 points (21 in the second half) and five 3-pointers (four in the fourth quarter).
Barrington 55, Schaumburg 41: Taylor Thompson (24 points) and Sophie Swanson (14) led visiting Barrington (13-7, 4-1) to the MSL West win.
Schaumburg (7-12, 2-3) was led by Alyssa Orozco's 21 points. Talia Torosian and Savannah William each had 8.
Palatine 46, Conant 36: Madi Stark netted 19 points and Kayla Miotk added 7 for visiting Palatine, which improved to 10-9 and 3-2 with the MSL West win.
Conant (5-12, 1-4) was paced by Neeha Katuturu (14 points) and Sam Locascio (9).
Fremd 71, Hoffman Estates 15: Emily Klaczek (12 points), Grace LaBarge (12), Ruthie Montella (6) and Ella Burns (6) paced visiting Fremd (14-4, 5-0) in the MSL West.
Ashley Oliver led Hoffman (2-17, 0-5) with 8 points.
