SRACLC actors put on 'High School Musical'

Submitted by the Special Recreation Association of Central Lake County

On Wednesday, Dec. 11, the Special Recreation Association of Central Lake County put on their version of "High School Musical" at Heritage Church in Lake Zurich.

SRACLC's 23 performers prepared for the show by practicing once a week for 14 weeks at SRACLC's Showstoppers program. The sets were completed by the nine artists in SRACLC's Behind the Scenes program, who met once a week for eight weeks.

The show was led by Amanda Dingman from Grayslake, who played Gabriella and Sean Hussey from Hawthorn Woods who played Troy. It would not have been complete without the supporting roles of Sharpay played by Amanda Garcia from Lindenhurst, Chad played by Austin Cheberenchick from Antioch, and the rest of the cast.

"We could not be more proud of the hard-working cast and crew of 'High School Musical,'" directors Katie Owen and Kara Miller said.

"We are always amazed at how much they grow and how dedicated they are to each performance. We could not have done it without our wonderful staff, parents and the accommodations from Heritage Church. It certainly was a favorite performance."
