Mundelein to host citizen police academy
The Mundelein Police Department will host a citizen's police academy on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. starting Feb. 11 and running for 10 weeks at the police station, 221 No. Lake St., Mundelein. It will culminate with a graduation ceremony April 14. The sessions will allow citizens, who live and/or work in or near the village and are between the ages of 18 and 55, to become familiar with the day-to-day police department operations. Participants can gain a better understanding of procedures, guidelines, responsibilities, demands, personnel, equipment, policies and laws that guide decisions. For information, call Officer Dan Schmidt or Officer Thomas Hall at (847) 968-4600. To apply for the academy, contact Jenni House at (847) 968-3770.
