College of Lake County hires new vice president of education

Sonya Williams is College of Lake County's new vice president of education and chief academic officer, the school said in a news release. Williams, who began Jan. 6, is responsible for long-term planning, budgeting and working with her team to provide leadership and guidance to the academic unit of the college. She comes to CLC from Joliet Junior College, where she was dean of the arts and sciences division and provided mentoring and long-term strategic planning while assisting faculty in instructional planning, among other duties. She is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma and was a captain in the U.S. Air Force.
