Democrats won't play by the rules

For organizations or societies, rules exist to prevent chaos and dysfunction. They prompt things to be done on the "fair and square," assure civility, and abet predictable outcomes. Americans are expected to "play by the rules of the game" in all aspects of life. And in our culture, someone who doesn't play by the rules of the game is rightly criticized, shunned or maybe worse if transgressions are serious.

That brings us to the Democrats and other travelers on the left. They have little regard for rules and predictably seek new rules when extant rules stifle their aims and goals. Some examples:

• Democrats haven't won two presidential elections because the Electoral College prevents a few big states handing their candidate a win. Their answer: Eliminate the Electoral College.

• President Trump has appointed conservatives to the Supreme Court - and is likely to appoint more. Democrats' answer: Increase the number of justices from 9 to 11, 13, or 15 and provide for their appointment after the 2020 election when (they hope) a Democrat president could add judges that would tilt the court back to the left.

• Democrats want more people on the voter rolls so they may dominate future elections. Extant rules keep convicted felons, illegal aliens, folks without I. D.s, and people under 18 from voting a Democrat ballot. Their answer: Ignore or change the rules.

• Democrats don't like guns or speech that offends them. Their answer: Scrap the 1st and 2nd Amendments.

• Extant rules call for the House to indict and the Senate to decide. Democrats' answer: Fearing a not-guilty verdict, House Speaker Pelosi asserts she can rewrite the rules and dictate how and what the Senate can/should do.

Let's tell the leftists, "No malarkey, play by the rules of the game or get out."
