Join Aurora Methodists for Movie Night Jan. 17

Wesley United Methodist Church, 14 N. May St., Aurora, will show "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17.

The public is invited. Admission, parking and refreshments are free.

The Rev. John Bell, pastor, said "Enjoy a night out with unlimited buttered popcorn and bottled water. Donations will be accepted to sponsor a farm animal through Heifer International."

According to Bell, Heifer International is a global nonprofit working to eradicate poverty and hunger through sustainable, values-based holistic community development. Heifer distributes animals, along with agricultural and values-based training, to families in need around the world.

The PG-rated "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" is a 2001 fantasy film based on J.K. Rowling's 1997 novel of the same name.

The first installment of the "Harry Potter" film series, its story follows Harry Potter's first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry as he discovers that he is a famous wizard and begins his education.

The film stars Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, with Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley, and Emma Watson as Hermione Granger.
