Payes named president of National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals Chicago

ROUND LAKE - Ivonne Payes, broker/owner of RE/MAX American Dream, was elected 2020 president of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals Chicago at its annual installation event in December.

At age 33, Payes is the youngest woman to hold the office of president for the Chicago chapter.

Payes began her real estate career with RE/MAX in 2014. In 2017, she partnered with Luigui Corral to open RE/MAX American Dream in Round Lake Beach, making her one of the youngest owners in the region. Payes credits Corral for introducing her to NAHREP, which she joined in 2015 as a member and soon after earned her first board position in 2016. She is the only current board member to hold all four executive positions - secretary, treasurer, vice president and now president.

As president, Payes will serve as an ambassador for the chapter and its mission of advancing sustainable Hispanic homeownership by empowering real estate professionals with resources to better serve this community. She hopes to involve more millennials in the chapter, particularly women.

"I am truly honored to assume the role of president of NAHREP® Chicago. I plan to use this opportunity to encourage young professionals," said Payes. "Your age and gender shouldn't matter - you can do this, too, if you work hard and put your heart into it."
