Truth takes a back seat

On the eve of the impeachment vote in the house, America had been put through a most confusing, contradictory, contentious and ad nauseam "endurance trial" consisting of Democrats and Republicans facing off as if immersed in primitive tribal warfare. Only this battle is one of words, of conceptual interpretation of a sacred document as applied to the intent and actions of the President of the United States. Who can speak the loudest, who can talk the fastest and jam the most words into the longest and most complex and convoluted sentence/paragraph. One side accuses the other of spewing falsehoods, of defaming the president, of sloppy jurisprudence, of conducting a circus intent on removing our president against the will of the people who duly elected him. The other side is convinced that POTUS has engaged in conduct that has betrayed the American people, such conduct rising to the level of "high crimes and misdemeanors." And so back and forth and forth and back the members go and never the twain shall meet. Ah yes, the articles are drawn; the vote will happen, but the TRUTH of what the president actually intended relative to his actions and verbiage with the Ukrainian president may never be fully realized. Oh, rest assured the Democrats and Republicans will continue to spar to the end and beyond, but us "average" folks will be left with unanswered questions: " What really happened?", The Truth? More witnesses? Unfortunately, WINNING the battle is the most important thing. The TRUTH-NOT SO MUCH!
