Senate, not House, is failing to lead

Linda Fisher's letter of Dec. 18 contains a couple of points that can only emanate from someone who simply is not paying attention or who is ignoring reality.

The Congress is not just going after Trump instead of passing bills. Congress has passed more than 400 bills and most are sitting on Mitch McConnell's desk. He will not bring them up for a vote. So McConnell's Senate, otherwise known as the Graveyard for Bills, is your problem, not Congress.

In case you hadn't noticed, McConnel is a Republican.

The theme throughout Ms. Fisher's letter is that she is enthralled with her economic situation since Trump.

Not one single word about the morals and dignity required of the president of the United States. And that is what has happened to the Republican Party philosophy. I have followed U.S. presidents since Truman. Not a single one has ever been laughed at by either the United Nations General Assembly or by gatherings of world leaders until Trump.

The story goes that Jesus threw the money changers out of the temple. Trump has not only invited them in but refurnished their offices. That seems to be just fine with today's Republican Party.
