Aurora church recalls Christmas story with live nativity
Faith Lutheran Church in Aurora retold the Christmas story with a live nativity pageant Saturday, Dec. 21.
The Rev. Rob Douglas welcomed visitors to open the 30-minute performance on the church's front lawn.
Congregants of all ages donned costumes to portray Mary, Joseph, angels, shepherds and three kings. A volunteer technical crew managed lighting and audio equipment.
Live animals included a donkey and goats and ducks in a pen.
Two hot-chocolate stations were offered outdoors to warm spectators during the program. After the show, free beverages and cookies were offered inside the church to close the event.
Pastor Douglas invited all to attend Christmas Eve worship services at 3, 5 and 11 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24, at the church, 3000 Liberty St. in Aurora.
He said, "Join us at Faith for beautiful music, opportunity to meet new friends and hear the story of how God's love came down."
