Geneva Early Learning Program to host Preschool Open House Jan. 22

The Geneva Early Learning Program invites area families to its next open house from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, to learn about the rewarding and enriching preschool offerings from Geneva Unit District 304.

Geneva Early Learning Program is an inclusive preschool community for school district residents, offering a full continuum of services for children who are typically developing, as well as those who have identified disabilities.

The program is currently accepting enrollment for tuition-based preschool students ages 3 and up who are not yet kindergarten eligible.

"Families who attend this open house can meet our teachers, explore our classrooms, ask questions, and learn how Geneva 304 partners with families to foster a love of learning," said Divisional Coordinator Jen Seaton. "We are dedicated to preparing children - academically, socially, emotionally, and physically - for future learning and life."

The preschool has a research-based, play-based curriculum and is aligned to Geneva Unit District 304's core values, according to Seaton.

Developmentally appropriate activities are aligned with the Creative Curriculum, the Illinois Early Learning and Development Standards, and student progress is monitored via Teaching Strategies Gold.

All teachers have a bachelor's and/or master's degree. Each holds a professional educator license with the Illinois State Board of Education with endorsements in either Early Childhood and/or Special Education and/or English as a Second Language. Every classroom has a full-time instructional assistant who is a licensed paraprofessional by the Illinois State Board of Education.

"We are so excited to meet prospective Junior Vikings," Seaton said, "and show families what we have to offer through play-based learning in the Little Blue Nation!"
