Animals, actors, music highlight Aurora church's first live nativity

Animals, actors and music highlighted the first live nativity at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Aurora on Saturday, Dec. 14.

The free, public production on the church's east lawn featured live animals. Included were three horses and riders from Standacher Farms in Yorkville, goats, alpacas and a donkey. Costumed congregants portrayed Mary, Joseph, wise men and shepherds.

A Fox Valley Academy of Music Performance quintet provide music in the sanctuary. In Krentz Chapel, congregants loaned nativity sets for a display. A craft table was offered indoors for children.

Donations were collected for Lifespring Ministry, an Aurora shelter for women and children. Refreshments will include hot chocolate, coffee and cookies.
