Chicago's CLTV is shutting down at end of the year

CHICAGO (AP) - CLTV, a Chicago cable news station, will go off the air at the end of December.

General manager Paul Rennie told staff in an email that it has 'œbecome increasingly difficult for CLTV to hold on to its audience'ť with news available around the clock on many different platforms. It began broadcasting in 1993.

CLTV stands for Chicagoland Television. Many staffers will be asked to apply for work at WGN-TV, also owned by Nexstar.
