Volunteers needed for Lake County homeless count
The Lake County Coalition for the Homeless is seeking volunteers to help its conduct its annual count of unsheltered homeless people in the county.
The annual point-in-time count will take place from 9:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22. The information gathered during the event is vital to understanding where resources should be spent and helps evaluate current and future programs to aid the homeless.
Any homeless person found by a team on the night will be given a care package with items such as warm socks, gloves, and hats.
