Lake County treasurer coordinating new toy drive

Lake County Treasurer Holly Kim is launching "Treasurer's Toy Drive" for charity this month.

Toys can be donated at the treasurer's office in Waukegan, as well as at the offices of seven state representatives throughout Lake County.

Collected toys will be distributed to families in need by the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

"If you feel you've been blessed with love and warmth this year, consider donating a gift and sharing that joy," Kim said in an announcement of the effort.

The state representatives participating are Rep. Mary Edly Allen, Rep. Daniel Didech, Rep. Joyce Mason, Rep. Rita Mayfield, Rep. Bob Morgan, Rep. Tom Weber, and Rep. Sam Yingling.
