Arlington Heights funeral home hosts holiday remembrance service

Glueckert Funeral Home in Arlington Heights is making final preparations for its holiday remembrance service on Saturday.

The annual luminary service honors those who have died in the past year or years past and includes a candle lighting, song, reflection and refreshments afterward. This year's theme is gratefulness.

Organizers say one of the most difficult things for many people is to experience the holidays after the loss of a loved one, so the annual event is an opportunity as a community to celebrate the lives of loved ones together.

All are welcome to the ceremony, scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road. Attendees are encouraged to arrive 20 to 30 minutes early.
